Camp Wamp offers free recreational camping experiences for kids with physical disabilities

We just learned about one amazing organization, the Stephen J Wampler Foundation, that offers free outdoor camping for kids with physical disabilities over the next several weeks at Deer Lake in the North Lake Tahoe region of the Sierra Nevada mountains located roughly 250 miles east of San Francisco.

The Foundation has been offering this program for the past 14 years and was founded so children can enjoy a sleep-away week of camping under the stars and experience everything the outdoors has to offer. Kids at Camp Wamp enjoy a variety of outdoor activities including; fishing, canoeing, singing around the camp fire, hiking, making new friends, participating in survival challenges, and much more.

All Camp Wamp sessions with kids ages (10-18) offer STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) experiences. STEAM will be introduced in an outdoor classroom setting where professionals introduce STEAM throughout the week at camp. STEAM is geared towards problem solving specific to the disabilities of each child.

Camp Wamp is FREE for kids with physical disabilities ages (10-18).  More information on Camp Wamp:  https://www.wamplerfoundation.org/camp-wamp.html
