NorCal SCI announces first Mobile Clinic pilot program in San Luis Obispo

We are excited to announce our first Spinal Cord Injury Mobile Clinic to be held at the SLO Noor Foundation in San Luis Obispo on Sat., September 22nd.  This initiative is one of our major goals for the year that seeks to give individuals with Spinal Cord Injuries in San Luis Obispo County the opportunity to have a free consultation with a medical professional with specific expertise in SCI/D.

We will be accepting applications for the clinic starting on Tues., July 24th, so look out for the announcement as well as more details in our Newsletter that day.

We will have a Nurse Practitioner and an Occupational Therapist who specialize in Spinal Cord Injury medicine. The Nurse Practitioner specializes in spasticity and is knowledgeable in skin care and bowel and bladder care while the OT has many years of experience treating individuals specifically with SCI/D.

We are also currently working on getting a wheelchair technician and a Physical Therapist to complement the team.

We would like to thank our medical volunteers and the SLO Noor Foundation for making this mobile clinic possible.  More details on the clinic itself and the application process will be announced on July 24th.
