SF Chronicle publishes highly-critical report on work of $3 billion stem cell agency

We have reported over the past year about the voter-approved California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) and its work since its inception following the passage of Proposition 71 in 2004.  More recently, the San Francisco Chronicle has published a series of in-depth investigative articles on the topic of stem cells and they just published their fourth part in this series that details the work of CIRM and the results of spending nearly $3 billion in funding.  It's an incredibly fascinating, behind-the-scenes reading that paints, at times, a very devastating picture of mis-calculations, mis-representations and financial mis-management at the agency.  Read it HERE.
