While we typically stay away from the business of politics, we couldn’t pass on this opportunity to announce that long-time advocate for the disability community, and especially the spinal cord injury community, Roman Reed has announced plans to run for a California State Assembly Seat representing District 25 which encompasses portions of cities of Fremont, Milpitas and San Jose. The announcement comes shortly after the 25th year since Roman suffered a high-level cervical spinal cord injury during a college football game.

His father, Don, has also been a tireless advocate for more research and funding to find a cure for spinal cord injury and he recently penned THIS COLUMN in support of Roman’s bid for the State Assembly.
