Samuel Merritt University is now recruiting individuals with a spinal cord injury to participate in a free 9-week program that provides therapeutic intervention to clients with occupational therapy needs while enabling its Doctor of Occupational Therapy students to work in a lab environment focused on improving an important area of functioning in the participant's daily life.

Held at its Oakland campus, the sessions may cover working on the ability to complete self-care tasks, exercises to improve strength or mobility in order to complete daily tasks, recommendation of adapted devices, equipment or strategies to improve function in daily tasks and interventions to address the client's goals for a specific area of functioning.

To qualify, candidates must commit to attending all 9 sessions held on Monday afternoons between Feb.-April for 50 minutes per session that start at 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., or 3:30 p.m. Applications are accepted on a first come, first served basis. For complete information and to apply, click HERE.
