NorCal SCI Exclusive: Dr. Wise Young to speak April 15 on upcoming stem cell clinical trials for chronic SCI
Ten days ago, we were super excited to share the announcement of the upcoming clinical trials led by Dr. Wise Young involving the use of the umbilical cord blood stem cells for those with chronic spinal cord injuries of C5-T11. These trials are the first of their kind to use stem cells specifically for chronically-injured individuals. We are equally excited now to announce that Dr. Young has agreed to speak exclusively at a free Open House hosted by NorCal SCI and co-sponsored by Mr. Dennis Chan.on Mon., April 15th from 6-9 p.m. and share the details of the ground-breaking research and early-stage clinical trials he has developed over the past couple of decades. This will be his only Northern California appearance and we’re pleased to be able to bring it to you.
Space is limited and the only way to attend is through advanced registration HERE.
You can read more about Dr. Young’s work HERE.
Umbilical cord blood is a rich source of stem cells. The umbilical cord blood mononuclear cells include most of the stem cells and monocytes. These cells release growth factors that stimulate regeneration in the spinal cord.
Dr. Wise will also take questions from the audience following the conclusion of his presentation. Light dinner and refreshments will also be served. The event will be held at the Bascom Community Center’s Multipurpose Room, located at 1000 S. Bascom Ave., San Jose.
