Celebrating our third year: the best is yet to come

This past week marked our third anniversary here at NorCal SCI and every day that goes by is a reminder that our work has just begun and, more importantly, the best is yet to come. We’ve used our web site and weekly newsletter to communicate complete transparency behind everything we do. More importantly, our overarching goal has been to support the dozens of organizations and service providers who support the spinal cord injury community in Northern California.

We have traveled all over Northern California to meet and greet with people and organizations and help spread the word about our organization and at every stop, it’s been exhilarating to hear the positive response we’ve gotten. Our donors have made virtually everything possible through their incredible generosity and we are counting on their support as well as those who would like to join in. Many volunteers have helped us in so many ways. Our web site is like an open book. Want to know what we’ve done or are up to? You’ll find the answer there.

Arguably, one of our favorite activities involves doing outreach and so, over the past few weeks, we were proud to attend the ADA EXPO in Santa Rosa where we met many members of the SCI community with many of them being new faces. Our co-founder, Nick Struthers, made a trip to San Francisco to participate in the first meet up hosted by High Fives Foundation. And Nick and Franklin visited the outpatient therapists at the Kaiser Hospital in Santa Clara where we conducted an in-service for them.

If you or someone you know would like to support our cause by making a donation, click HERE. If you have some free time on your hand and would like to assist us with various projects, please contact us. If you feel there’s an unmet need in the SCI community, please let us know. You can always reach us at info@norcalsci.org.

We thank you for your support and will continue to work hard to expand our organization and the scope of services our community can benefit from.
