Disability agencies offer volunteer & paid positions
There are a couple of positions at two organizations serving the disability community and so, if you wish to be in an environment and position where you’d be helping and advocating for your fellow disability community members, you might want to look into them.
The California Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities (CCEPD) is seeking a person with a disability and a business representative to serve as representatives to the Committee. The CCEPD makes policy recommendations to the California Health and Human Services Agency and the Labor and Workforce Development Agency on increasing the rate of employment of people with disabilities. The CCEPD also influences policy and program development on State coordination efforts for people with disabilities. Several California Departments, business representatives, community-based organizations and people with disabilities are members of the Committee. CCEPD Members are required to participate in quarterly full-day meetings in Sacramento, participate on a Subcommittee, provide perspective from their representation, and provide feedback to policymakers. Members are reimbursed for travel costs. Please visit the CCEPD homepage for the application.
