NorCal SCI co-founders hit the road by visiting Fresno's SCI community on Aug. 21
NorCal SCI’s co-founders, Nick & Franklin, will be making their first-ever joint appearance in Fresno on Wed., Aug. 21st as part of an invitation to take part in that evening’s SCI Support Group meeting which will feature a potluck theme bringing together the SCI community in Fresno County where an estimated 1,000 individuals with spinal cord injury live.
These monthly support group meetings are the result of the merger of two previously separate groups that now meet on the third Wednesday of every month from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC) located at 6 West Dayroom, 2823 Fresno St., Fresno. For more information, contact Amber Rabone at (559) 459-2728 or check out their Facebook page. We plan on sharing with the participants the various services and programs that are available to them through NorCal SCI as well as developing a better understanding of the unique needs of that community.
Additionally, we also plan on meeting with the SCI program Coordinator at the VA Hospital in Fresno, a stop over at the new SCI-FIT facility that opened earlier this year in Clovis (just outside of Fresno) and, time permitting, visiting the San Joaquin Valley Rehabilitation Hospital (SJVRH).
For sure, it would be a busy day but one that we’re looking forward to and we’ll be sure to file an extensive report about our visit the following week.
