From dancer to Crossfit competitor: Sacramento paraplegic seeks funding for national competition

Tresa at last year’s Wodapalooza

We think of the world of Tresa Honaker, the aspiring professional aerial dancer from Sacramento who joined the SCI community eight years ago when during a rehearsal, she fell 15-feet on her back, resulting in a T9 spinal cord injury. But don’t let her injury fool you. Tresa will be competing next month in Miami at Wodapalooza, an adaptive Crossfit competition where she placed 2nd in her division last year.

And here’s how you can support her. The expenses for the trip are $6,000 and Tresa is seeking funding from those who believe in her abilities and want to help support her ambitions to not let her injury define her and to constantly push forward and reach higher goals.
