In support of its Power Soccer Program, the Bay Area Outreach and Recreation Program (BORP) will once again be hosting its annual Poker Fundraiser on Sat., Feb. 29th in Berkeley. Now, before you novice players think that you stand no chance, we’d like to say that at last year’s event, John Madigan, a former power soccer player and coach, took first prize and since John only plays poker once a year, he’s living proof that even a poker novice can win.

The event takes place at BORP’s facility at the Ed Roberts Campus located at 3075 Adeline St. in Berkeley from 5:30-10:30 p.m. A poker tutorial will be held at 6 p.m. with the tournament officially beginning at 6:30 p.m. Some fabulous prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers and various auction items will also be available for bidding. Food and a cash bar will also be available during the evening.
