Dec. 2 virtual lecture to focus on Neurogenic Bladder After SCI: common questions and misconceptions
The Spaulding New England Regional Spinal Cord Injury Center (SNERSCIC) will present a virtual lecture on the topic of Neurogenic “Bladder After SCI: common questions and misconceptions” on Wed., Dec. 2nd at 3:30 p.m. PST presented by Dr. Todd A. Linsenmeyer, MD Director of Urology, Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation Research Professor, Dept. of PM&R, Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Most individuals with spinal cord injuries (SCI) develop neurogenic bladders. This lecture is specifically directed to individuals with SCI and their families and significant others about this important topic. This lecture will discuss common questions on how SCI affects bladder function, reasons for bladder evaluation, various types of bladder management, urinary tract infections and other possible problems such as autonomic dysreflexia.
Various misconceptions about these topics will also be discussed. Following the lecture, there will be a question and answer session. Attendees will be able to:
