When we first announced two months ago the launch of our free twice-weekly Virtual Adaptive & Functional Fitness Training in separate classes for Quadriplegics and Paraplegics, we had no idea what the participation rate and interest would be in such activity. After witnessing the audience of wheelchair users who have been participating consistently in these activities it became clear to us that we needed to keep this viable service going for our SCI community and so, we’re thrilled to announce a three-month extension of these classes led by Coach Stephanie Roach through the end of March 2021.

Our hope is that as long as there is interest and demand for these types of classes, we will continue to offer them to anyone with quadriplegia or paraplegia, regardless of where they live. Coach Steph and her staff have developed a loyal following thanks to the personal attention they pay to every participant and as she reminds each participant, “I see each and every one of you”.

For NorCal SCI, it was important that we offered two separate classes for the two levels of injuries. However, it is not unusual for quadriplegics to attend the paraplegics classes or the opposite. Regardless of your injury level, Coach Steph can increase or decrease the degree of difficulty of the exercises for each person. However, we’ve found that class participants with similar levels of injuries tend to form a close bond with each other.

The QUADRIPLEGIC classes are held every Wed. & Fri. from 4-5 p.m. and you may register for any session of your choice HERE.

The PARAPLEGIC classes are held every Wed. & Fri. from 5-6 p.m. and you may register for any session of your choice HERE.
