NorCal SCI rolls out "Friday Happy Hour" Weekly Virtual Peer Support Meetups

The isolation that many of those with SCI living all throughout Northern California felt before COVID-19 has become more exacerbated with the terrible effects of the pandemic and while we, as an organization, made an attempt at bringing this community together with the introduction of weekly virtual peer support meetups several months ago, the increased production of all of our virtual presentations led to the suspension of such meetups. But good news is on the way as NorCal SCI has made a commitment to hold "Friday Happy Hour" Weekly Virtual Peer Support Meetups starting this Fri., Dec. 18th from 6-7 p.m. and we invite you to join us.

While the title might suggest there will be some drinking going on (we do welcome those who wish to bring their alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages to the meeting), what was unique about the original meetups was that it was a happy place to come to no matter how down you may have felt. While we never brushed aside challenges one may be facing, our aim was always to lift each other up. Those who were attending the meetings regularly got to know each other better and developed friendships beyond the meetups.

We hope that if you live anywhere in Northern California and would like to hang out with your peers in a positive and supportive setting, you would make the move this Friday night at 6 p.m. and join the Zoom session at THIS LINK.
