NorCal SCI to visit, conduct in-services at Kaiser Vallejo, Sutter Roseville, Shriners in Sacramento

Our advocacy and awareness campaign is taking us to Vallejo and the greater Sacramento area this week as we have scheduled in-service presentations at Shriners Hospital, Sacramento, Sutter Rehabilitation Institute in Roseville, and Kaiser Medical Center in Vallejo. We are expecting to meet with a large group of therapists and physicians who work with the SCI population at their respective locations and we’ll be sharing the many services and programs that we offer in order to better support their efforts on the front line when dealing with the newly-injured in particular.

This will be our first time visiting Shriners Hospital which is literally across the street from the UC Davis Hospital in Sacramento that also sees a healthy volume of newly-injured patients albeit Shriners tends to get the younger patients, typically under 18. Following that meeting, we’ll head over to Roseville to meet with the staff at the Sutter Rehab Institute. We were there last year and conducted an in-service to a small group of therapists and we hope to be doing the same to those who were unable to attend.

The rehab center we’ve been very much looking forward to go is Kaiser in Vallejo. It sees the second highest number of newly-injured SCI patients and this would mark our first-ever presentation at the center where we expect to meet with a significant number of staff there.

We’ll be filing an extensive report about our visits in next week’s newsletter.
