St. Francis Hospital staff hosts NorCal SCI co-founders for first-ever in-service

We met Alexis Mielke, a PT at San Francisco’s St. Francis Memorial Hospital, at last October’s Abilities Expo and so, it was wonderful when we worked with her to set up an in-service for their staff of PTs, OTs and nurses on Tues., Jan. 28th to share our mission and vision and how we can help support their work with those patients with a spinal cord injury staying at the hospital.

We were thrilled to have an audience of 11 to present to who were kind enough to stay for more than 45 minutes as we shared our presentation and introduced them to the various services and programs we offer. Though the hospital only sees a handful of newly-injured patients, they also see some on an out-patient basis. Our goal is always to spread the word at all facilities that come in contact with anyone with an SCI and given their interest in learning about us, we made the trip to San Francisco.

Thank you again, Alexis, and we hope to continue our relationship with St. Francis and help support those with SCI that may go through this facility.
