They say if at first you don’t succeed, try, try and try again. OK, we may have taken some liberties with that saying but it underscores our efforts for three years in a row to secure funding from the Reeve Foundation which finally on our third attempt, we were awarded their 2020 Direct Effect Quality of Life grant of $24,540 this past week to help support a series of programs to serve the SCI community. The award represents the largest grant NorCal SCI has received since its inception in 2017.

Putting more emphasis on applying and securing grants was one of our major strategic goals for this year and despite a couple of failed attempts earlier this year, we’re grateful to the Reeve Foundation for its recognition of our work and proposed program. The grant covers a 12-month timeline and we are currently working on formalizing the details of our program and will unveil them in the next couple of weeks.
