New report details fertility in males and females following a Spinal Cord Injury
A Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) impacts every injured person’s life, including their reproductive health and fertility. SCI causes significant disruption to male fertility and reproductive health. Although female fertility is generally not as affected, women with SCI may still face challenges during pregnancy related to self-care and daily functioning, as well as labor and delivery.
Health professionals have a duty to educate people with SCI and their partners about the different avenues and supports available to them to have children. There have been many medical advances over the years that have helped people with SCI have children.
This latest report helps educate both males and females about the inherent challenges their new body faces as it relates to fertility and ability to conceive along with potential solutions. You can view it HERE.
