AXIS for ALL: Renowned dance company to offer free on-demand guided movement and dance class series

Oakland-based AXIS Dance Company, a nationally-recognized organization that champions disabled and non-disabled dance performers, is piloting a free on-demand class series, AXIS for ALL, on four consecutive Wednesdays from Dec. 8-29. The series is developed especially for those living with paralysis, their caregivers and family members, but is open to anyone who wants to participate. AXIS for ALL is great for all-ages and features guided movement and dance. Videos include seated/wheelchair-based instruction focused on bringing movement into the body, taught by AXIS Company Artists. Watch their one-minute trailer HERE.

Each Wednesday, AXIS will release a new video sampler on their website, each approximately 10 minutes long involving three different approaches to exploring a theme (movement exploration, yoga and meditation, dance, and especially for kids). In early spring of 2022, they will begin to release 1/2 hour classes expanding on the themes explored in the samplers. The program is made possible thanks to a grant from the Reeve Foundation.

You can sign up for these on-demand classes HERE.
