Redwood City-based Bair Island Aquatic Center (BIAC) is kicking off an adaptive program for those with spinal cord injuries (SCI) with open house events on Sun., Feb. 28th to introduce potential new rowers to their adaptive coaches and the boathouse, offering 1-on-1 work with a coach on an ergometer and learning how to adapt it to your individual abilities. BIAC is one of five rowing clubs in the U.S. selected by USRowing to host this program which was funded from a Neilsen Foundation grant.

For those interested in rowing on the water, you will be able to ask questions about the boats, equipment, and BIAC’s adaptive programs. There are three hour-long open house sessions from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with each session accommodating a maximum of three persons. As the weather becomes warmer, water classes will be held.

The event is free but due to limited capacity, you must register HERE.
