FOR PARAPLEGICS: Using resistance bands to exercise your Full Upper Body and Core on March 18

Are you a paraplegic and looking for a full upper body and core workout from your wheelchair without all the fuss or fancy equipment and hassles of gyms? Then this class is for you. A simple set of resistance bands can go a long way as strength and conditioning trainer, Rachel Kahn, will teach 15-20 exercises with multiple variations, progressions, and modifications on Thurs., March 18th at 5 p.m. PST which you can register for HERE.

In this installment of “NorCal SCI Presents: Virtual is the New Reality Series”, Rachel will explain which exercises target certain muscles including your deep core muscles, abdominals, shoulders, chest, and back. Class Prep: Most of this class will be movement-based so come ready with a set of resistance bands or check out THIS SET. This is a great set because it includes a door anchor and arm cuffs if handles are hard to grip. You may also need someone assisting you to switch out the bands.

This free virtual presentation is funded through a grant by the Reeve Foundation. Once you register, you will immediately receive a confirmation e-mail from us which you should keep for access information to the virtual event. Rachel is a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and is currently pursuing her license for massage therapy.
