BORP launches new virtual (Sit Fit) and outdoor (The Fitness Lab) classes
Armed with new funding, thanks to the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation, the Bay Area Outreach & Recreation Program (BORP) is launching a pair of new classes that are offered virtually as well as in-person starting this month. And these two classes build on the addition of the “Birding For All” program that BORP launched last week.
Every Monday, starting on March 15th through Oct. 25th at 4 p.m., former paralympic athlete, Nathan Perkins, EdD, ACSM-CIFT, will lead Sit Fit, a 30-minute workout that will help you ease into the week The class is a combination of stretches, strength and cardio exercises all done in a seated position with or without weights, great for all levels of fitness. Nathan has taught several exercise classes involving individuals with physical disabilities for the past 20 years and is an adapted physical education instructor at De Anza College in Cupertino. You can register for these weekly classes HERE.
Ready to take your fitness outside? Join instructor Brent Kobs, PT, DPT, CSCS starting tomorrow for The Fitness Lab. This high intensity class is designed to help people of all disabilities and ability levels develop their movement capacity through experimentation. Class sizes will be limited and strict COVID-19 safety precautions will be enforced and observed. For more information or to register for this class, click HERE.
