Oh how he loves Mexican cuisine, especially the tacos, enchiladas, tamales, sopes, and so much more (burritos are an American – not Mexican – invention, so let's skip that). But you don't need to solely rely on your local taqueria for a taste of deliciousness. Wheelchair user and foodie, Arash Bayatmakou, is going to talk about some of his favorite ways to enjoy Mexican dishes at home, and how to make them healthier and better suited for your nutritional needs than what you would get from eating out. So, buen provecho, and be prepared for Arash to put on yet another passionate display of his love for cooking, yes, from his wheelchair on Thurs., March 25th at 5 p.m. PST. You can register for this cooking demonstration HERE.

This presentation is funded through a grant by the Reeve Foundation and you must register in advance to attend. Once you register, you will immediately receive a confirmation e-mail from us which you should keep for access information to the virtual event.

Arash experienced his SCI in 2012 as a result of a fall. He has given numerous talks and shared his story of perseverance, recovery, and challenging limits to audiences large and small, including his TEDx talk. A Bay Area native, Arash credits his California upbringing for his love of the outdoors, nature, and cooking, activities he still cherishes as he continues to travel, explore and enjoy new experiences. He also serves on NorCal SCI’s Board of Directors.
