COOKING WITH ARASH & SHELLEY ON APRIL 29: Spring dishes prepared with fresh seasonal ingredients
With Spring well underway, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Shelley Wood, and Chef in a Wheelchair, Arash Bayatmakou, are pairing up again on Thurs., April 29th @ 5 p.m. PST to prepare several meals using the season’s fresh produce and fruits. Not only do fruits and vegetables taste SO much better, you also get more of the nutrients from something grown locally and in the proper season, instead of shipped to you from around the globe. If you’ve watched any of their past sessions, you should know they’re both about using fresh, seasonal ingredients in their cooking and this session is no different either. It’s all part of the “NorCal SCI Presents: Virtual is the New Reality Series”. You may register for this presentation HERE
Join them to learn about their favorite spring time dishes and how to best cook and eat the season's bounty. This free virtual presentation is funded through a grant by the Reeve Foundation. Once you register, you will immediately receive a confirmation e-mail from us which you should keep for access information to the virtual event.
Arash experienced his SCI in 2012 as a result of a fall. A Bay Area native, Arash credits his California upbringing for his love of the outdoors, nature, and cooking, activities he still cherishes as he continues to travel, explore and enjoy new experiences.
Shelley is a lifelong advocate of nutrition. When she isn’t working with her patients, she can be found in her greenhouse or kitchen. She obtained her B.S. in Nutritional Science from San Jose State University in 2012 and has been working at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, one of the top spinal cord injury rehabilitation hospitals in the country, since 2013.
