NorCal SCI-Reeve Foundation collaboration produces 13 new SCI Peer Mentors
Nearly six months removed from our first-ever collaboration with the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation that resulted in training and certifying of 14 new Peer Mentors, a second class of 13 new Peer Mentors completed their four-hour virtual training on March 30th and have now joined their colleagues to help those with spinal cord injury that may need support toward overcoming challenges or issues common to living with paralysis.
Our 13 new Peer Mentors are: Anthony Berry, Arash Bayatmakou, Dan Scrivner, Debbie Dobosz, Gabe Guterres, Gina Biter-Mundt, Javier Pulido, Ligia Andrade Zuniga, Mike Ward, Pete Williams, Robert Medel, Sam Kolb and Von Morshed. We’re grateful to them for recognizing the role they can help play in the lives of their fellow peers.
We also wish to extend our gratitude to the staff at the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, Rebecca Sultzbaugh, TJ Griffin and Killeen Marzella. They helped organize the entire event.
Spinal cord injuries can be hard and devastating. This effort underscores our Mission at NorCal SCI: allow people affected by or living with a Spinal Cord Injury/Disorder in Northern California to thrive and live productively. Peer Mentors fulfill a critical component of achieving that goal. Thank you to all the newly-minted Peer Mentors. We’re appreciative of your willingness to support others.
