AMAZINGLY FUN! BORP/NorCal SCI's first-ever Adaptive Cycling event at Vasona Park a big hit

It was the day we had been waiting for. After being forced into cancelling the previous weekend’s debut of the BORP-NorCal SCI Adaptive Cycling event due to poor weather, mother nature came through this past Sunday with a glorious day as we celebrated the opening of five Sundays in a row of cycling at Vasona Park under crystal clear skies with temperatures in the low 70s. For some of our participants, it had been decades since they last got on a handcycle while for others, it was their first time ever. Most importantly, they all admitted to having a great time cycling around Vasona Lake in Los Gatos and we want to invite you to join us for the next four Sundays by registering for this fun and free event HERE.

We couldn’t have pulled this off without the solid work of BORP Cycling Center’s Leo and Justin who worked hard to make every rider’s experience a great one. We’re grateful to them as well as our volunteers for the day, Ed and Phil.

Each Sunday, the folks from BORP are bringing down up to nine cycles, including foot and hand cycles to accommodate different abilities. They also brought their power lift that makes getting in and out of your wheelchair and bike a breeze (if you need it) and took the time to comfortably fit everyone into their bike. Our volunteers and other event organizers also escorted those who hadn’t cycled in a while.

Why should you consider registering for this event? If the last 14 months haven’t given you enough of an incentive to get out of your house and take part in a fun and safe outing specifically tailored for you, we don’t know how else to incentivize you to participate. And don’t take our word for it. Enjoy the pictures of this past Sunday’s event and decide for yourself. We hope to see you there as early as this Sunday but please register in advance.
