Our good friend, Troy Plunkett, founder of the SCI Active Network, has teamed up with Joseph Bello to produce a series of highly informative, crisp and short YouTube videos offering tips on maintaining your wheelchair. At last count, the duo had produced 16 videos on a range of topics which you can access on their YouTube channel HERE. And make sure you subscribe to their channel to see their new videos as they are released.

Through his organization, Troy has been offering the Share-A-Chair program where individuals waiting for their wheelchairs from vendors can temporarily borrow used wheelchairs fully refurbished and maintained by Troy. Those of you who know him have come to appreciate his intimate knowledge of the workings of wheelchairs, so as a user, Troy is uniquely qualified to host these video series.

Troy, who was injured in a dirt bike accident in 2003 while a senior in high school, is a paraplegic. Like Troy, Joseph was also a senior in high school when he experienced a spinal cord injury after an all-terrain vehicle accident in 2014, leaving him a quadriplegic. Thanks to a grant that Joseph received from the Donald A. Strauss Foundation, together they decided that teaching and training the SCI community to better maintain their wheelchairs was an important initiative.
