BACKBONES, a non-profit that supports individuals with spinal cord injury/disorder, is hosting a series of “Women & SCI/D Health Talks” webinars with the goal of providing a space for both formal and informal discussion among women regarding topics that are often either rarely discussed or neglected. Their first session will take place on Tues., Sept. 14th at 4 p.m. PST and will focus on “Access to Healthcare” featuring guest presenters with SCI Monique Stamps, a quadriplegic, and Dr. Susan Solman, a paraplegic. Women with SCI and disabilities face unique challenges when accessing healthcare and the speakers will be discussing topics such as how to find a healthcare provider who knows SCI/D, as well as mammograms, birth control, physicals, and more. You may register for this free event HERE.

Future events will address topics of Self-Esteem & Body Image on Oct. 12th, Sex & Pleasure on Nov. 9th and Addressing & Surviving Abuse on Dec. 14th.
