Following successful launch, NorCal SCI's Smart Home Independence Package resumes accepting applications

It was seven months ago that we announced the launch of the Smart Home Independence Package (SHIP), a program designed to enhance the safety and independence of those with a spinal cord injury by featuring a customized range of Google Nest products that will be installed in the homes of qualifying applicants with SCI residing in Northern California. Though all SCI levels will be considered, priority will be given to those who would benefit the most from the package and have limited financial means to fund the equipment themselves. Five deserving applicants were initially accepted into the program and had their SHIP installed in their homes and we’re now ready to accept more candidates who may complete their application HERE.

This program is part of our continuing effort to demonstrate how technology can improve the lives of those living with paralysis. Using a customized range of Google Nest products, we’ve partnered with OnTech’s experienced staff and technicians who have been essential not just for their professional installation but, just as importantly, for their technical support and expertise.
