BORP introduces weekly adaptive Pilates mat class starting Sept. 30

Beginning Thurs., Sept. 30th at 4 p.m., BORP will host a new weekly Adaptive Pilates Mat Class. designed by and for people with spinal cord injuries but open and beneficial to all. The class is unique and essential for those that sit in a wheelchair all day and are able to get up and down off of the floor or have access to a raised mat.  The instructor will lead the class through the basic principles of Pilates, helping you to get stronger, more flexible and even to have improved coordination. Pilates also uses specific sequential breathing methods combined with intense concentration on a specific body part to create an effective exercise routine. You may register for this free Zoom class HERE.

These classes are led by Liz Ann Kudrna, a student and teacher of Pilates and its concepts for over 25 years. In 2008,  Liz Ann became paralyzed at T5 after a climbing accident. She has developed several classes directed towards those with mobility challenges based on exploring her own experience and those of her clients with mobility challenges.

She is a certified instructor with the Pilates Method Alliance and has a B.S. in dietetics. Liz Ann was introduced to Pilates while working in a Physical Therapy outpatient clinic in the Bay Area and incorporated Pilates in a physical therapy setting for about seven years. In 1999, she started Body in Balance Pilates Studio in Montana.
