VA research seeks those with SCI who self-identify as LGBTQ+ for research study

The Palo Alto VA Health Care System’s spinal cord injury (SCI) center is conducting a research study and invites eligible persons with SCI who self-identify as LGBTQ+ to share their health care experiences and perceptions on the unique needs and issues that they may be facing as sexual and gender minorities (SGM). Through this ground-breaking research project, their goal is to reduce gaps in knowledge and build strategies that will allow other LGBTQ+ individuals living with SCI/D to better meet their mental and health needs.

Participants need to commit to a one-hour one-on-one phone interview in addition to completing an online survey. You must be a U.S. resident 18 years and older, have an SCI and self-identify as LGBTQ+. You will receive a stipend upon completion of the interview and survey. For more information or to participate, contact Shane Lamba at (650) 353-1634.
