What is an appropriate center of gravity in a manual wheelchair?

Troy Plunkett, founder of the SCI Active Network, has teamed up with Joseph Bello to produce a series of highly informative, crisp and short YouTube videos offering tips on maintaining your wheelchair that you can do for yourself. Each week, we call out the individual videos produced by the duo with the next video demonstrating “an appropriate center of gravity in a manual wheelchair” which you can view HERE.

Troy, who was injured in a dirt bike accident in 2003 while a senior in high school, is a paraplegic. Like Troy, Joseph was also a senior in high school when he experienced a spinal cord injury after an all-terrain vehicle accident in 2014, leaving him a quadriplegic. Thanks to a grant that Joseph received from the Donald A. Strauss Foundation, together they decided that teaching and training the SCI community to better maintain their wheelchairs was an important initiative.
