For many wheelchair users, the idea of an accessible vehicle can be out of their price range. While providing greater independence and dignity, we have seen the costs of these vehicles continue to rise over the years and with only a couple of vehicle conversion companies around, there is virtually no competition that could help drive down the spiraling costs of these specialty vehicles. In the meantime, there does continue to be improvements in the selection of such vehicles and the folks at New Mobility magazine recently published an article introducing SUV and Hybrid options that have now hit the market for those who can afford them.
