NorCal SCI & Reeve Foundation collaborate to train and certify 11 new Peer Mentors

Our continuing collaboration with The Reeve Foundation has once again led to certification of 11 individuals with spinal cord injuries from Northern California who attended a virtual Peer Mentoring educational and training session that has now led to 51 individuals in Northern California who have completed this program over the past two years. The March 23rd session touched across tips and strategies for working with individuals who are experiencing challenges and issues common to living with paralysis or caregiving.

We are proud of this group of individuals who completed this session, including Brandon Murphy, Carson Dohemann, Char Vine, Jason Smith, Joe Escalante, Joseph Carlino, Kevin Lee, Lake Kowell, Robert Stone. Tiffany Poland and Vanessa Osman. We are also grateful to the staff at The Reeve Foundation, Rebecca Sultzbaugh, TJ Griffin and Killeen Marzella. They helped organize the day, the material, leading of the session and following up with everyone and providing their training material and certification.

Spinal cord injuries can be hard and devastating. This effort underscores our Mission at NorCal SCI: allow people affected by or living with a Spinal Cord Injury/Disorder in Northern California to thrive and live productively. Peer Mentors fulfill a critical component of achieving that goal. Thank you to all the newly-minted Peer Mentors. We’re grateful to you and your willingness to support others.
