Free Pizza & Films 6/22: Kick Off the Adaptive Cycling Season and Celebrate Able Bodied’s 2nd Anniversary!
Celebrate two years of Able Bodied and kick off the summer adaptive cycling season with an evening of great food, inspiring films, and incredible community!
Able Bodied just reached its two-year milestone, and there are some exciting updates to share with the adaptive sports community - check out their blog post! To celebrate, they are partnering up with BORP and NorCal SCI for a special film screening event at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose on June 22 from 5:30pm - 8pm (presentation starts at 6pm).
Come hungry, because dinner features iconic pies from A Slice of New York—widely regarded as the absolute best pizza in San Jose. While enjoying a slice, attendees will screen two fantastic films featuring adaptive mountain bikers who tackle epic trails and breathtaking backcountry adventures with humor, attitude, and sheer determination. That will be followed with a fun trivia game to test your knowledge of adaptive cycling facts and accomplishments, with prizes for the winners!
Best Day Ever — The story behind the creation of the first double-black expert downhill trail built specifically with adaptive cycling in mind. This powerful documentary won the Banff 2025 Best Film: Mountain Sports Award. You can check out the film trailer for a sneak peek of the inspiration.
Quinn Brett and the Tour Divide — An epic 2,450-mile journey along the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route from Canada to Mexico, completed by Quinn Brett, the first adaptive cyclist to ever take on this legendary trail.
It’s the perfect opportunity to connect with local handcyclists, meet the teams behind these organizations, and find out how to get involved in adaptive cycling rides and programs this summer.
