Are Your Durable Medical Equipment Needs Being Met? We Want to Hear From You
Many of us wheelchair users know that getting adequate equipment, coverage, and support for our wheelchairs and durable medical equipment (DME) is becoming harder and harder. Insurance companies are constantly changing – usually reducing – their coverage and the feedback we hear from our community is that DME is becoming harder, more expensive, and more difficult to address through our health insurance providers.
Combine that with the fact that smaller and more local DME providers have rapidly been bought out and replaced by large private equity-backed firms, and it’s clear that the service model for DME is failing many of us.
Northern California resident, activist and Executive Director of Designing Accessible Communities, Richard Skaff, has put together a survey asking DME recipients about their experience with the two primary providers in the area: National Seating & Mobility and Numotion.
We hope you will out the survey and share your honest opinion so that the needs of our community can be better met
