Discover New Activities and Community at the 4th Annual Adaptive Sports Expo

Registration is officially live for BORP’s 4th Annual Adaptive Sports Expo, Northern California's largest adaptive sports event!

Join the community on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to learn about and try a wide range of beginner-friendly adaptive sports and activities. Everything is completely free and open to people of all ages, with and without disabilities.

This year's event spans three accessible Berkeley locations connected by a free accessible shuttle:

  • James Kenney Community Center (1720 8th Street): The central hub featuring wheelchair rugby, goalball, power soccer, wheelchair basketball, adaptive fitness classes, all-day pickleball, a Family Fair, and resource booths from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • BORP Adaptive Cycling Center (80 Bolivar Drive): Try handcycles, recumbent trikes, tandem bikes, and adaptive kayaks on the water and trail from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • Berkeley Ironworks (800 Potter Street): Experience rock climbing with new climbers completing a waiver on arrival, running from 12 to 3 p.m.

To make participation as seamless as possible, equipment and an accessible shuttle between locations are provided—all you have to do is show up and have fun.

This year's event carries extra significance as a special milestone celebration. Following the main activities, a 50th-anniversary after-party will be hosted at James Kenney Community Center (1720 8th Street, Berkeley) from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., featuring free food and drinks to thank the community for supporting five decades of impact.

Whether you are looking to discover a new hobby, meet new people, or get more involved, BORP’s 4th Annual Adaptive Sports Expo is the place to be.
