Rolling Through the Park: Good Food, Great Friends, and First-Time Trails

The NorCal SCI community gathered for our Adaptive Cycle and Lunch event on September 20th, and we had an awesome time! Held at the scenic Yerba Buena Picnic area in Hellyer County Park in San Jose, the location offered the perfect setting for a beautiful day outdoors. Riders took full advantage of the paved trails leading into the picturesque Coyote Creek Trail, enjoying the peaceful surroundings and fresh air.

A major highlight of the day was seeing Jeff Shi try hand cycling for the first time—he had an absolute blast coasting down the trails! We were also delighted to have Sindhu join us for the ride alongside her son and husband, making it a true family affair.

Following the ride, everyone gathered at the picnic tables for lunch to catch up and socialize. The conversation was lively and covered a wide range of topics, including valuable tips and shared personal experiences around navigating airline travel as a wheelchair user. Thank you to everyone who came out and made the day so memorable.

Be sure to check out our calendar HERE to find out more about our upcoming events and programs.
