Free Winter Adaptive Sports at Shaver Lake

Imagine carving fresh powder with a grin as wide as the Sierra skyline – that’s the invitation waiting at Shaver Lake this winter! The Central California Adaptive Sports Center (CCASC) has opened reservations for its 2025–26 season, welcoming everyone ready to trade wheels for skis or boards. Starting November 28, the center will open Fridays through Mondays (with Thursdays possible by request), offering half-day or full-day adventures tailored to every ability.

Here’s the best part: veterans with disabilities and individuals with spinal cord injuries enjoy every session completely free, and families are encouraged to join in the fun as well. Choose from sit-skiing, stand-up skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, or even mountaineering – all equipment and friendly instruction included.

Half-day slots run 9:30 a.m.–noon or 1:00–3:30 p.m.; full days stretch from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Newcomers can sign up easily HERE, while returning friends simply call 559-593-2504 or email reservations@centralcaladaptive.org. Spots fill quickly once the snow flies, so reach out soon and secure your place on the slopes!
