Slices, Stories, and Smiles: Fresno Meetup Recap

The Fresno community gathered on March 21 at Barrelhouse for a social meetup. While the California sun was toasty, the group stayed cool in the air conditioning, enjoying a relaxed afternoon of connection. The event brought together about 25 people, including a great mix of new faces and a wide range of SCI types and backgrounds.

It was a gorgeous day full of sharing experiences and learning from one another. Beyond the primary attendees, it was a pleasure meeting the many caregivers, friends, and significant others who joined the conversation. Everyone enjoyed plenty of pizza throughout the afternoon; it seems pepperoni is the top choice for the Fresno community, though Hawaiian was a close second. Several attendees also walked away with brand-new t-shirts.

A special thanks goes out to Jeffrey and Kelly, who spent the afternoon capturing photos of the crowd. Those photos have since been posted on social media for everyone to enjoy. Following the event, a drawing was held for those who completed the post-event survey. We are excited to announce that Brandon is the lucky winner of the Starbucks gift card!

If you are interested in organizing a similar meetup in your own area, please email the team at info@norcalsci.org to start the conversation.
