Take This Survey to Help Improve Access to Adaptive Sports
Getting into sports, exercise, or outdoor recreation after a spinal cord injury isn't always easy, even if you were athletic before your injury. People face all kinds of hurdles—from finding the right adaptive gear to knowing when they feel truly ready to try something new.
To help address this, the Kelly Brush Foundation created the Readiness Study to learn directly from individuals with physical disabilities how to make getting active easier and more accessible. Whether you participate in adaptive sports or not, they want to hear from you!
What Is the Survey About?
The survey asks real people about their personal experiences getting active after an injury. The main goals are simple:
Figure out when people feel ready to try adaptive sports or recreation.
Find out what barriers keep people from getting started.
Learn what kind of support or equipment helps the most.
Connect hospitals and rehab centers directly with community groups so people get support at the right time.
Why This Experience Matters
Many people want to get active again after an injury, but they simply don't know where to turn or how to start.
By sharing individual experiences, participants help adaptive organizations and care providers learn what actually works on the ground. This feedback helps ensure future programs offer the right support at the moment it is needed most.
How to Take the Survey
