NorCal SCI Attends DSLC Tech Expo in Santa Rosa

Board members Tricia Lawrence, Arash Bayatmakou, Dan Scrivner

On May 19th, after a four year absence due to Covid, the Disability Services & Legal Center of Sonoma County hosted its Tech Expo aimed at sharing the various companies, technologies, organizations, and resources available to people with disabilities in the greater Sonoma County area.

NorCal SCI had a strong showing with three members of the board showing up and sharing great conversations with members of the community and other vendors. For some people, it was an introduction to our organization and the many resources and programs we have. For others, it was an opportunity to finally meet in person after many virtual and phone conversations.

Board member Dan Scrivner – who has dedicated considerable effort, energy, and time to running the Neilsen Grant Program – was especially excited to meet some of the grant recipients, and potential applicants, in person. (As a reminder, anyone suffering a SCI in the last two years living in Northern California can apply to the program, info here.)

As we strive to serve all areas of Northern California, the Tech Expo and similar events are fruitful opportunities for NorCal SCI to continue expanding its reach and serving its mission
