NorCal SCI connect with Meta Employees on Team Building Exercise

NorCal SCI co-founder Nick Struthers recently joined over 70 Meta employees in a Santa Clara Brewery as part of a team building exercise. The goal for the group was to assemble Drive folding wheelchairs and give one of their team the opportunity to manouvere in a wheelchair across various obstacles on the Brewery floor. Nick was joined by full-time wheelchair user Sam Kolb who is a Meta employee and has a T7 complete injury. He spoke about how essential custom rigid frame wheelchairs are in the lives of SCI survivors and can cost 50 times more than the folding equivalents. It was a great opportunity for Sam to inform the group that the challenges of an SCI go far beyond using a wheelchair. They were all invited to find out more of the vital work NorCal SCI does for the community by registering for Inspire 2024.

We would like to thank Debbie at Team Bonding for running the event and Meta for providing 4 Drive Folding Wheelchairs which are now available on our donated medical equipment webpage.
