Open Call for United Spinal SCI Advocates

If you want to address the many needs of the SCI/disability community through legislation and policy on a local, state, or federal level, sign up for United Spinal’s Grassroots Advocacy Network.

United Spinal represents our nation’s 5.5 million wheelchair users. They proudly trace their roots to the paralyzed World War II vets who came home to an inaccessible nation and made it their new mission to create a fully inclusive society. United Spinal honors them by using today’s tools to directly provide top-notch service and resources to their members, chapters, and the broader disability community.

Their advocacy department’s working groups provide opportunities for members to organize around the issues that matter most to them such as: Accessible Parking, Outdoor Access, Accessible Transportation, and Emergency Preparedness.

United Spinal Association wants to make it easy for you to get involved and use your voice for change. Every advocate plays an important role in communicating what members of the spinal cord injury and paralysis community need to be successful. Across the country, people are sharing their stories and working to educate their lawmakers about the issues that affect them most. Your life experience and a passion for change can make a difference.

If you’re interested in making your voice heard and enacting policy changes to help people with disabilities, check out their Advocacy Program Resources and sign up for their Grassroots Network!
