NorCal SCI Attends Reeve Foundation Summit in Denver
The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation held its Annual Summit in Denver, Colorado March 10-12 and NorCal SCI Executive Director Arash Bayatmakou made the trip to the Rockies to attend. It was the first time NorCal SCI had representation at this unique event and it was a great opportunity to connect with a number of the people and organizations in the SCI industry.
It was a well-organized conference with engaging presentations and speakers and provided a forum for a variety of people across the country to meet, share ideas, learn, and keep up-to-date with the latest research and topics that impact the paralysis community.
There were a number of exhibitors at the event, including – but not limited to – HelpHopeLive, Craig Neurorehabilitation Center, Onward (makers of the recently FDA approved ArcEX device), Chanda Center for Health , and Neuability Fitness & Wellness Center for Paralysis.
A number of the attendees had participated in the Virtual Symposium on Outpatient Rehab that NorCal SCI hosted and co-organized in January and it was wonderful to meet some of these people in person (including Reeve Foundation CEO Maggie Goldberg) and discuss the future of reforming post-hospital rehabilitation and exercise opportunities for the newly injured.
It was a jam-packed few days but greatly beneficial for NorCal SCI and our community. We’re grateful to the Reeve Foundation for hosting us and look forward to next year’s event and future collaborations.
