Road to Recovery Grants Now Include Mental Health Resources

As an organization, we are acutely aware of the many challenges that exist for people at any stage after a SCI, whether it's been a few months or several years. That's why our Road to Recovery grant program is available for a variety of needs and to improve quality of life. The 4 categories for grant applications are: Therapeutic Exercise/Therapy, Home Modifications, Mental Health Services and Specialized Durable Medical Equipment.

Are you living with a SCI and battling depression or mental health challenges? We know that for someone living with a SCI, there's rightfully a strong emphasis on physical rehab and exercise, but mental health can be just as debilitating and challenging. Did you know that there are 3 ways you can get free or financially discounted mental health services?

1) United Spinal Association has partnered with BetterHelp to provide access to one month of therapy at no cost. Find out more HERE

2) Many counties in Northern California offer free mental health resources for individuals covered by Medi-Cal/Medicare or individuals with no ability to pay. Check out this website to see how to apply. You can go HERE to find your own county services.

3) As part of the Road to Recovery program, NorCal SCI offers grants to pay for therapy and mental health services. Apply HERE
