Women With SCI: Finally, A Webinar Series Designed for You!
For many women living with a spinal cord injury, medical conversations frequently stall once basic rehabilitation is complete. The Oregon Spinal Cord Injury Connection (OSCI) is working to change that narrative by launching their Women’s Health Forum Series. This program focuses on the idea that women in the paralysis community deserve more than just "maintenance"; they deserve a life defined by confidence, pleasure, and proactive wellness. By creating a space for these specific discussions, OSCI is helping women reclaim agency over their own health.
The series begins on February 12th with a vital session: Female Sexual Health, Pleasure, and Reproductive Care. Guest speaker Leanne Beers will lead a supportive, judgment-free discussion regarding sensation, arousal, and body autonomy. Since this kickoff addresses some of the most frequently requested topics in the community, the organizers anticipate a high turnout. Those interested in attending should consider registering soon to ensure they can participate in this session with a guest specialist. HERE is the link to register.
To ensure this is a safe and comfortable space for everyone, OSCI offers a way to participate without the pressure of speaking up publicly. If a participant has a question they would like addressed but prefers not to ask it live, they can submit it anonymously in advance. The speakers will then incorporate these answers into the discussion, ensuring that even the most sensitive topics are handled with care. If you’d like to submit an anonymous questions, please click HERE.
Following the February kickoff, the series will continue throughout the year with sessions on preventative screenings, mental health, and daily logistics. This is a rare opportunity to join a community of resilient women as you gain the expert tools and connections needed to truly celebrate your well-being!
