Personal tragedy inspires AbleThrive Founder
NorCal SCI's co-founder, Nick Struthers, recently met Brittany Déjean, founder of AbleThrive, a one-stop platform featuring curated resources for living well with a disability.
These resources are curated from blogs, organizations, hospitals and companies around the world, organized and delivered to the users based on their specific needs.
Brittany has been talking to various medical and rehab facilities to educate them about the capabilities of the web site and how it can make search for relevant content easier.
The site's inspiration was Brittany's dad, Paul Martin, a quadriplegic as a result of an automobile accident in 1998 that also took the life of his son and her brother. Yet, Martin now enjoys living completely independently. AbleThrive's extensive collection of videos, articles, products and services is designed to help families live well with a disability. Based on your abilities and interest, you can customize the type of content you would receive, so we encourage you to check out this resourceful site.
