SCI Connections meeting to update community on Asterias Stem Cell Clinical Trials
We've written a lot about the various stem cell clinical trials happening in the U.S. and one of the most promising ones has been the Fremont-based biotechnology company, Asterias Biotherapeutics.
On Thursday, Sept. 21st, the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center's monthly SCI Connections meeting will feature Dr. Reza Ehsanian, the study's coordinator, who will discuss the current state of the trials taking place throughout the U.S. and what results have been recorded and what the next steps are.
It's a presentation you don't want to miss as you'll have a unique opportunity to ask questions about how this study can potentially affect the lives of those with spinal cord injury. The meeting runs from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and will take place at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center’s Valley Specialty Center, Basement Conference Room, 751 S. Bascom Avenue, San Jose. Free food and refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the presentation. Additionally, the meeting will be presented via a live webcast for those unable to attend in person and participate in the Q&A session as well.
To attend, please RSVP by contacting Robert Medel at (408) 885.2397 or by e-mail at vmcpeersupport@scvmcrehab.org. To join the live webcast, please contact Robert Medel, either by phone or email, and he can assist you with the connection setup.
