NorCal SCI announces partnerships with No Limits Collaborative, Project Walk, SCI-FIT
We launched the Road To Recovery (R2R) program on April 3rd with the goal of helping qualifying recipients with block grants of up to $2,000 to be used for continued therapy and/or equipment or home modification as well as dedicated mentoring supporting individuals with SCI/D. Today, we're thrilled to announce formation of partnership agreements with No Limits Collaborative in Berkeley, Project Walk in Walnut Creek and SCI-FIT with locations in Pleasanton and Sacramento, part of a network of rehab centers specializing in individuals with spinal cord injury.
The partnership allows for a close working relationship with each facility that would ensure clear goals and methods are established, progress reports are provided and the grant recipient receives the maximum benefit from their time at such facility. All the billing and payments will be coordinated between the partner facility and NorCal SCI.
R2R doesn't preclude other reputable physical therapy or rehab facilities or individuals from being considered at all. In fact, we will be including more of them in the coming months as we expand our efforts.
The management of all three facilities are excited to be part of this first-time-ever program to cover all of Northern California. We thank them for working with us in forming the program and their willingness to accommodate various requests we had.
R2R is offered to those individuals when insurance or financial resources are not available and they are in need of financial assistance. But this is not just about giving away money. We'd also be working closely with each candidate to ensure their goals are met because if we can prove this concept positively affects people's lives, it would enable us to secure additional financial resources to make it available to an even larger group of candidates.
We have committed to funding at least 10 individuals in 2018 and hope to further expand the program dependent on the success of our fundraising efforts. If you or someone you know can benefit from this program, please review the details of the program and complete the application HERE.
